Description

This 7th annual Florida Adventure Trip is built as a beginner‑active experience with relaxed paddling, gentle currents, and plenty of time to soak in Florida’s wild beauty—five nights and four days exploring some of the state’s most iconic and scenic spring runs. You’ll enjoy easygoing days on the Silver River, the vibrant Chassahowitzka Springs, and the winding, jungle‑like Rock Springs Run, along with an on‑foot visit to Homosassa Springs State Park to meet manatees, birds, and other native wildlife up close. Explore and experience the best parts of “Old Florida.”

Your home base is a spacious vacation house with a private pool oasis—perfect for unwinding after each day’s adventure. From playful monkeys on the Silver River to the serene coastal charm of the Chassahowitzka and the lively twists of Rock Springs Run. Each paddle offers unique discoveries, rich wildlife, and gentle exploration.

This is a fully serviced, all‑inclusive experience. We handle lodging, shuttles, equipment, park entry fees, and nearly all meals— so you can simply arrive ready to relax, explore, and enjoy. Evenings include poolside downtime, and you’ll have a free day to explore local gems like snorkeling with manatees at Crystal River or visiting Blue Springs State Park during manatee season.

Accommodations

The home is centrally located to all of our paddling adventure locations. It has 5 roomy bedrooms and 5  baths. It sits on a resort property and offers many ammenities for your downtime leisure. Relax by the private pool at the house or take a short walk to the pickleball courts for a little friendly competition.

Paddle Chassahowitzka Springs

A paddle on the Chassahowitzka feels like drifting through a living mosaic of springs, wildlife, and shifting light—an easy, beginner‑friendly half‑day journey that winds through the crystal‑blue bowls of Seven Sisters, Crab Creek, and Baird Creek at a relaxed, unhurried pace. Gentle currents, playful fish, and the soft rustle of wading birds set the tone as you explore these hidden freshwater sanctuaries, taking your time to float, look around, and enjoy some of the most peaceful waters in Florida.

After the paddle, we’ll load up and head to Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park for an on‑foot adventure, where manatees, birds, and native wildlife offer a whole new perspective on Florida’s natural world.

Paddle Rock Springs Run

Glide through crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant wildlife at Rock Springs in Apopka. As you paddle through this natural wonder, you’ll encounter serene, winding bends and the playful fish darting and on some occasions catch a glimpse of an otter swimming right under your kayak. The pristine environment offers an oasis of tranquility, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. With every stroke of your paddle, you’ll discover hidden gems along the way, from a secluded swimming spot at the Emerald Cut to the sunning gators and turtles along the remote waters of the Wekiva river. Kayaking Rock Springs is more than an adventure—it’s a journey through one of Florida’s most enchanting landscapes, promising memories that will last a lifetime.

Paddle the Silver River

Kayaking the Silver River offers a captivating journey through a pristine natural sanctuary where the possibilities for wildlife encounters are nothing short of extraordinary. Imagine paddling through crystal-clear waters, surrounded by ancient cypress trees and lush vegetation, while the chatter of wild monkeys echoes through the canopy. These playful primates, remnants of a long-lost attraction, can often be seen swinging from branches and curiously observing paddlers. As you glide along, keep an eye out for the gentle giants of the river: manatees. These serene creatures, with their slow, graceful movements, might surface right next to your kayak, offering an unforgettable close-up experience. The Silver River is a magical place where every bend in the river unveils a new surprise, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

Free Day Activities

On your free day in February, immerse yourself in the enchanting natural beauty of Blue Springs State Park, a true winter wonderland for nature enthusiasts. As temperatures drop, the park transforms into a sanctuary for manatees, with these gentle giants arriving in mass numbers to seek refuge in the warm spring waters. Stroll along scenic boardwalks that wind through ancient cypress forests, offering breathtaking views of the pristine spring and its abundant wildlife. Witness the awe-inspiring sight of manatees congregating in large groups, gracefully gliding through the crystal-clear waters. With its serene atmosphere and captivating natural surroundings, Blue Springs State Park provides the perfect escape for a day of relaxation and discovery, allowing you to connect with nature in its most pristine form.

Nestled in the heart of Central Florida, the charming town of Mount Dora offers a delightful escape with its picturesque streets and welcoming atmosphere. Known for its vibrant arts scene and historic charm, Mount Dora invites you to explore its unique boutiques, antique shops, and art galleries that line the downtown area. Stroll along the scenic waterfront, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Dora, or relax in one of the town’s cozy cafes and restaurants. With its beautiful parks and gardens, the town provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. Whether you’re a history buff, an art enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful getaway, Mount Dora promises a memorable experience filled with warmth and character.

Please note: Some trips may be changed to a different location based on environmental conditions and other factors. Our goal is to provide the best experience possible for you to enjoy your adventure. Alternate trips may include Weeki Wachee Springs, or the Ichetucknee River.
